An Education Delegation of 7 members led by President Chang Jianghua of China Qiqihar University visited USA from Feb.04 through Feb.20, 2006. During their stay in Houston, they visited UH Clear Lake, and were happy to meet President - Dr. William Staples, Mr. Jerry Rhoderback - Director of Intl Initiative Office, Dr. Charles McKay - Dean of School of Science & Computer Engineering and etc. The delegation also visited Houston Baptist University and had a meeting with President - Dr. E.D.Hodo and other executives of the school. China Qiqihar University is the largest university in Northeast China with students over 24,000 and 2,100 faculties. The school has collabrated with the foreign schools as Russian, England, Japan, Korea, Austrilia, New Zealand and etc and now is seeking the opportunities for collabration and cooperation with American Universities. Nancy J.Li, director of Qiqihar University USA office, and President of US-China People's Association arranged all the meetings and also hosted the delegation with Former Vice mayor Mark Goldberg, now the president of Galleria Chamber of Commerce, Ms. Susan Myers, Director of Houston Holocaust Musuem and Chief Consul Zhao Haisheng of PRC. During the stay in Houston, the delegation were also happy to meet the two teachers who would be going to work in the university from Feb.23, 2006.
